Come experience the stillness and deep unwind of a Yin Yoga Practice in this 5-week series. The practice of Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, bones and joints of the body, so it will really help improve rang of motion in the body.
Unlike an active practice, the poses of Yin are held for longer periods of time, from 3-5 minutes, allowing the muscles to soften more deeply. Breath awareness is encourage in each pose, and this creates a meditative effect, even while facing sensation in the body. Yin is a perfect complement for those who practice dynamic, muscular styles of yoga and also for athletes as a compliment for their training.
Because all the poses are floor based, Yin Yoga is appropriate for everyone, from beginners to experienced practitioners. Modifications and props will be offered to help create space and healing for all levels.
